This is about Quirt Evans(John Wayne) a gunfighter, injured, being chased by a group of riders. Quirt comes upon a ranch occupied by Quakers, Thomas Worth(John Halloran) his daughter (Irene Rich) and granddaughter Prudence(Gail Russell). The local doctor (Tom Powers) tells them to get rid of Quirt if they want to keep peace as they have known in the past. But, they ignore his warning. Quirt, stays with the Quakers while healing, falls in love with Prudence and eventually agrees to hang up his guns if she'll marry him. |
