SNAKE
DEADLY ACT

- Stars:
Ng Kun Lung, Wilson Tong, Fong Hak On, Angela Mao, Chan Wai Man, Phillip Kao
- Director:
Wilson Tong
- 1979,
Hong Kong
-
- It
starts with an amazing fight between two Snake fighters named Kuo (Wilson
Tong) and Yue Yi (Fong Hak On) who supposedly raped each other’s wife’s. Yue
Yi escapes and swears to take revenge on all of the Kuo’s.
- Some
years later, Kwok Chung (Ng Kun Lung), the son of the rich and kind Mr. Kuo,
is always getting into trouble when trying to help people. When he makes trouble
in a brothel, a mysterious Snake fist fighter, Yue Yi, saves him. But without
learning a lesson the energetic fellow gets into trouble again and after getting
seriously hurt Yue Yi saves him again and takes him to his little shack. When
Kwok wakes up he is told that his style is ineffective and nothing compared
with the Snake fist. Kwok begs to become his student and after a while Yue
Yi agrees, but only in one condition Kwok has to obey his slightest wish.
Then he teaches him the rigorous Snake Fist which requires patients.
- When
some antiques are stolen he sends Kwok to investigate his suspicious housekeeper
(Phillip Kao). Kwok finds out something and is very surprised, what can it
be? Find out.
-
- Flipping,
acrobatic,
fast, intricate and poisonous Snake Styles!!!
- Wilson
"the foot doctor" Tong plays Mr. Kuo who invents his own lobster
style and kicks ass as usual.
- Chan
Wai Man is very good as the casino owner using eagle claw.
-
Bolo has a cameo showing his muscles and lets people break stuff on his body.
- Ng
Kun Lung's first and only movie, so here's your only chance to witness his
kicking skills and snake styles. I mean, this guy can really kick and has
pretty good leg control too.
- Fong
Hak On is out for revenge and snakes up lots of people.
- The
beautiful totally Angela Mao cameos for good measure. This girl is great!
-
- The
bad thing I can
say about this is that it doesn't really keep you awake for the entire film,
I'm not saying it was boring but although it had some incredible kung fu styles
on display and some great training scenes it never makes you go wild of amazement
like (for ex) "Drunken Master". Maybe
the charisma was missing.
- Anyway,
this is a classic old school with some amazing Snake Fist fights, and training
scenes that you shouldn’t miss. More reason for you to buy it is that Eastern
Heroes recently made a new cool sleeve for this movie for the "late
night classics collection" (other titles at the same collection are "The
Hot, the Cool & the Vicious", "Eagle's Claw", and "Iron
Monkey" from 1977).
