Dixie Cooney

So Liza butts in where she isn't welcome (again) and Tad tells her to butt out (again). But no. After all, where would Tad and Dixie be without Ms.Colby? LOL. Adam tells Junior about Dixie's impending death and the kid actually takes it quite well. He then watches the Dixie Death Tape (DDT) and follows Dixie's instructions..."when you're in trouble...GO TO TAD". So, off he goes and Tad calls Dix to let her know where he is. Dix in the meantime has had another episode where she almost has a heart attack. Luckily Dr. Death was there to help. Off Dix and Adam go to claim their son. Tad notices that Jr left a video, and pops it in his VCR. DING, DONG! It's Liza... she's got to pee, but she also has news! She's practically giddy, "Dixie's dying!! Tad, aren't you happy? She still loves you!" Tad tells her she's nuts, Dixie is fine, she was just here. He tells her to BUTT OUT again. Yes, he still loves Dixie! Can't Liza see that this is killing him? She's sorry she's being a pest...and before she goes, she accidentally takes DDT with other WRCW tapes. Tad can't find Jr's tape... Dixie breaks in to find it. No luck. Tad whines to Jake. Liza watches the DDT. She bursts in on Tad, Adrian, and Jake... "Watch this! It's the Dixie Death Tape! I was right, she is dying!" So, they all gather 'round (Liza brought the Raisinettes, and Jake went for sodas) to watch with Tad. Boy, I really wanted Tad to be alone when he saw this too! :( Tad realizes that on the tape Dixie sent Junior to him... there's not a dry eye in the room as the tape ends and Dixie sings "You Are My Sunshine" to Junior. :...(

Tad has a lone tear falling down his cheek, he hugs Liza, Jake, forgets all about Adrian and makes a bee line for Chandler Mansion. He asks Brooke to watch the boys for a day or two... what for? True Love. :) awwwww. Tad asks AJ (yay!) if he can borrow his mom for a few days "to make her happy". AJ consents, but tells Tad that Dixie is sick and needs to take her meds. They hug.

Tad joins Braden and Dixie in her bedroom. Tad is in his commmando jester mode, just like when he proposed to her in the chicken suite. Dix is depressed/sad... Tad will stop at nothing to cheer her up. :) He tries to get Braden to leave but Braden isn't interested in winning Beef Jerky at a line dancing contest. He hates beef jerky. Dix asks both to leave, she's tired. Tad says, "Yes, time to go. After you Braden." But as Braden goes to leave, Tad walks over to Dixie and throws her over his shoulder. She shrieks "Put me down!" but no good that is. Tad carries her downstairs and in front of Adam, Brooke, Braden, Junior, Stuart, and Marian carries her off. "Say Good-night, Dixie." he starts... "Good-night, Dixie" Dix replies as their audience cheers! :) "Finally!" shouts AJ. (The 'Holics are happy, and there is much rejoicing! YAY!!!)

He throws her in the back of a limo and puts up the partition... they're off to NYC. Tad checks them into the same hotel where they cleared the air, and they're going to do the same thing now! [WARNING: Major pre-emptions here. Insert your favorite I HATE ABC rant here. Always when there's an important T/D scene!!! Grrrr!! Thank you to all who passed on videotapes from the West Coast, as the East was forced to watch All My Senate Trials. And they wonder why the ratings suck?] Tad banters with the bellhop and tells him they're on their honeymoon. Dixie insists he's insane. She wants to go home! Nope! Tad starts to take off her coat, then her top... she gets nervous... Tad's wristwatch alarm goes off and he hands her her medication. He tells her he knows about her heart but wants to know all of it. Dixie starts to tell him but breaks down. "I'm... dying!" They embrace. Tad doesn't believe that. It's not going to happen. They will be together. She tells him she was on her way to meet him on the Statler when it happened. But she can't put him through this. He says he's staying with her. Tad won't shut up, so Dixie kisses him and then grabs his lips! LOL. She can't ask him to do this. He loves her and won't take no for an answer. They will cry together, and laugh together. He'll see to that. She replies, "You're such a maroon." Tad remembers something... now that they're back together, he can do this...he grabs her nose... then sticks his finger in her ear... then grabs her chin... and finally caresses her face.

He tells her that the next word out of her mouth better be "yes". Only yes, that's the only thing she's allowed to say, ok? She replies... "yes." LOL. He says, that wasn't the question. Then he gets serious and asks her... "Will you marry me?" She accepts. He gives her Grandma Kate's ring. She loves it! We get a lovely reuion, rife with symbols! (LMAO at the banana and the "signs")

He tells her that he wants to grow old and gray with her so that when they're at the family reunion in 50 years someone will take a polaroid and no one will be able to tell who's who, they'll look so much alike. Dixie scoffs, but Tad tells her this is the life he's always wanted. (I cry bucketloads during this episode)They kiss and when things turn passionate Tad asks.. "Dixie, your heart." Her reply: "My heart knows what it wants, what it needs... you." And with that, Tad's resolve is gone, and they're on the bed. LOL! The drought is over!!! Open the floodgates!

Dixie's hungry, but Tad won't let her order. Nope. Too expensive. Huh? Dixie says one of the funniest things I've ever heard (foreshadow?LOL) "Tad, a banana is not going to alter the course of our lives!" (little does she know!) There's a knock on their door... Tad makes Dixie go into the bathroom. By the time he lets her out, a heart healthy breakfast has arrived and Tad is dressed up like Cary Grant. He's even gotten her a lovely peach penior set to remind her of Deborah Kerr and he's rented "An Affair to Remember" he's finally going to see the damned thing! LOL. Dixie wishes that she could tell the boys... Tad says they can go home right now. (I scratch my head. Now?!?!?) But that big ole bed is unmade... what a waste... oh well, can't let it go to waste. He picks her up and carries her to bed. And away they go... for the 3rd time this morning... LOL.

Tad says, "I'm home." They're so exhausted, that neither can get up on the count of 3. LOL. :) When they arrive home they tell Jamie, Jake and the boys, who are jubilant. Tad and Jake visit Dr. Hayward who explains Dixie's condition. Dixie finds out that Liza is the one who forced Tad to watch the tape (little does she know that Tad would have seen it a whole episode sooner if Liza had just... all together now... BUTT OUT!) She goes to thank her. And Dixie apologizes. Damn, those sex induced endorphins are a powerful thing, no? LOL. Once again, Dixie forgivess someone who has wronged her. Darn. And I was loving Cooney vs Colby! C'est la vie. Oh, Dixie takes the next round of tests... and she's improving. :) Jake and Joe assure her they'll make her well. Tad and Dixie go to Marian and Stuart's wedding.
