Here is my transcribed interview of Katie outside the Shrine Auditorium just before the Emmys.
I saw Katie on E! Entertainment just before the Emmys. Joan Rivers was interviewing people as they got out of their cars/limos and walking up the red carpet into the Shrine Auditorium to watch the Emmys, and both James Van Der Beek and Katie were interviewed. I missed taping James, but did manage to tape Katie. Here is a transcript of what was said. (By the way she was Beautiful!)
Katie is wearing a long-length white dress which is low-cut revealing good cleavage, and her hair is done up in wavy, loose curls of which a few strands are free and covered her face a little bit as she was being interviewed. Here is what was said:
Joan: She plays Joey in the hit, hit, hit WB series, Dawson's Creek. What a hit this has become.
Katie: Thankyou, yeah, it's so nice to be here.
Joan: Does that mean now that you know you can settle and relax?
Katie: Um...I'm sorry, I didn't even hear that....
Joan: Does that mean now that you'll be able to settle down now a little bit, now that you've had a year or two, where you know what your doing....
Katie: Yeah, exactly. It's nice. Last year we were, we were just down there, we didn't really know what to expect. And then everything just kind of hit, and this year it's like, we kinda know what we're doing, and it's nice to shoot far away. It's pretty fun. We have a good time.
Joan: What did you do in your hiatis?
Katie: I did a move called Disturbing Behavior, a movie called GO, and one called Killing Mrs. Tingle, directed by Kevin Williamson, so I had a good time.
Joan: I saw you first in the Ice Storm, I thought you were wonderful.
Katie: Thankyou.
Joan: Tell me who did your dress.
Katie: Batchalee Mishka (Note: I'm not sure of the spelling).
Joan: And the bag? (Joan indicates her purse, which looks like a round ball with flowers on it (not pictures of flowers) suspended by a single wide strip that you hold on to).
Katie: Dickinson and Dickinson. I feel like I'm getting married heheheh (She laughs a beautiful laugh!).
Joan: Do you pick your own clothes, or do you have a designer do them for you?
Katie: I had a designer come with about 30 dresses, and had about 10 of my good friends come and help me decide which one. So...
Joan: What are your next plans? Are you single?
Katie: (Pauses as if she has a little bit of emotion associated with the question) Yeah.
Joan: Dating anybody special, or a....
Katie: No. (Laughs).
Joan: Ok, well, you're on the prowl. Good to see ya.
Katie: Can I say hello to my family?
Joan: Absolutely.
Katie: My family in Toledo, and and in Boston. And everyone in Wilmington.
Joan: All right, got it all in.
Katie: Thankyou.
