I begin this entry with a story...
Once a girl, a young woman really, made the hardest journey of her life. She is so immature in ways, yet so mature in different ways. She has saved herself, and a few others along the way, from disaster time and time again, but no one rewards her. It is simply what she does and she does it alone.
To most people she is just a nameless face in the crowd, but the selected few that can see her for what she is admire her. She has persevered where most would have faltered and fallen off the path that fate has chosen for them to walk.
She, in all her struggles, has found herself and has learned to understand others in the process. She discovered that she had never truly given herself to others; she had received love but never given it. At times she had not even given it to herself. She had existed in apathy. Nothing had feeling, nothing had a taste and nothing had a smell. The only thing she had was the instinct to survive.
But this woman learned to love. She learned the joys and the pleasures in life. She gave herself to someone and he gave himself back. In loving him she learned to truly love others in the process. A fallen angel taught her.
Suddenly this angel was taken from her and with him he took that part of her she had invested. She tried to preserver as she always had but found, that through several acts that her angel committed, she could not.
So she ran away. What she went through in those months, I truly do not know. I think she reverted to her old state, only wanting to live. But I believe that something got through her pain, hurt and guilt. I believe that she knew that she could not run from her sentiments.
So she decided to face them head on. She decided to go to the place where it all started. She went home.
This young woman is my Slayer. She has come home. She has dealt with the past and the resolutions she made.
I, for one, truly admire her.
