Cheryl Sather
I was born in Cebu City, Philippines on March 11th, 1975. I
was born into a predominately talented musical family, where everyone was able to sing and
play at least one instrument. I began singing in church choir when I was very young,
and entered and won my first singing contest when I was in the first grade. I have entered and won many more contests since this time.
When I was 16, I began singing professionally and was the lead
singer in a popular pop/rock band. We performed in clubs, parties, and
functions. We gave several concerts and were quite successful in the
Philippines. I eventually quit the band and decided to pursue a career in nursing. I
attended college at the University of Baguio, Philippines.
When I was 19, I had the opportunity to come to the United states,
which I did. In 1998, I met my husband, Charles, a
Registered Nurse, at one of the nursing centers I was working in. He has been
extremely supportive of my musical talent and has encouraged me to once again take up singing professionally.
We am currently in the process of making a CD on our own but are open to any offers that may come along
I like almost all music but sing mostly country, oldies, soft rock and some pop. I play several instruments, besides being a vocalist, but am best with the
guitar. I read, sing, and speak fluent English and Tagalog. I look forward to a long
and prosperous career in music.
My husband and family have been very supportive and helped me to be a part of many contests all over the US. I have sung in Nashville and will be preforming there again in July of 2003 in the MISS Teen Model US pageant, where my daughter Nikki will be one of the contestants. I will also be in Medford, Oregon later that same month. If you are interested in a sample of my music, drop me a line at cherylsather@nvbell.net
