Wednesday Feb. 4th 1998 V. Scenes

V: That's new. (V does a thumbs up - which Mac has just done.)

Felicia: I was thinking back. It was right around the time when you  noticed he was buttoning up his shirts just a little bit differently.  I have to say, I'm very impressed. That was a very astute observation  you made.

V: Thank you. Although I have to tell you, to be precise,  what I noticed was -- ahem -- unbuttoning.

Felicia: Same difference.

V: Not quite. Oh, but no matter. Would you be interested in another  observation?

Felicia: sure would be.

V: Well, sometimes when Mac is closing up at night, I can hear him  from upstairs.

Felicia: Really? The walls are that thin?

V: Well, only in the kitchen area, mostly. But anyway, the odd thing is that Mac seems to be amusin himself by whistling old surfer Tunes.

Felicia: Beach Boys? Jan and Dean? Those kind of surf tunes?

V: Yeah, unless I've missed some current retro trend. I take it from  your reaction Mac is not a surfer.

Felicia: just a channel surfer. Not even the net. You know, you have a very good eye for detail. You must've been a great cop.

V: Sheriff's deputy. But my ultimate goal was robbery/homicide. I like the -- you know, the rush of the chase, uncovering clues, solving puzzles, netting the target, taking scum off the street

Felicia: yeah. Do you miss it?

V: Only when I let myself.

Felicia: Hmm. Well, if anything else jumps out at you, will you let me know?

V: I'll let you know right away. What do you think is happening with Mac?

Felicia: I don't know. But I'm not going to stop until I find out.

V: See you.

Felicia: Bye.

Later scene:

Felicia: hey.

V: Hey. Felicia: you said you missed the thrill of the chase?

V: Yeah, I do.

Felicia: Want to work with me on a case?

V: I would love to, but I thought that Mac was your partner.

Felicia: Mac is the target.

V: Oh.
