Jax: Officer, good morning. Where've you been
Ofc. Ardanowski: Breakfast.
Jax: Oh, why didn't I think of that? Please, please, come in. Come in.
Jax: You want some?
Ofc. Ardanowski: I ate.
Jax: What?
Ofc. Ardanowski: I beg your pardon?
Jax: What'd you eat? Actually, no. Let me guess. Let me guess.
Ofc. Ardanowski: Ok.
Jax: You had six-graintoast with yogurt.
Ofc. Ardanowski: Mr. Jacks --
Jax: I'm right, aren't I?
Ofc. Ardanowski: Well --
Jax: Come on, admit it. I guessed what you had for breakfast, and I didn't even have to spy.
Ofc. Ardanowski: I don't spy.
Jax: Oh, that's right. Excuse me -- surveillance.
Ofc. Ardanowski: Mm-hmm.
Jax: You're on me 24 hours, seven. Except when I actually need
You. Not that I don't appreciate the breakfast. I mean, this is great. These scones -- these scones are really good. You sure you don't want any?
Ofc. Ardanowski: I don't need anything.
Jax: Half, then. Have half. And half the coffee. Please. Please. I mean, you know, it must be very exhausting keeping track of me.
Ofc. Ardanowski: Actually, it's not too strenuous.
Jax: Really?
Ofc. Ardanowski: you're right. They're delicious.
Jax: I trade off, you know. One morning I have a real vile-tasting, healthy protein shake, and the next day I have these. But you knew that.
Ofc. Ardanowski: Yes, sir.
Jax: In fact, you know a lot about me, don't you? Including my whereabouts at the time Pierce Dorman was murdered. Correct?
Ofc. Ardanowski: Possibly.
Jax: Ofc. Ardanowski, How would you like to be my alibi?
Ofc. Ardanowski: "Friday, June 6, 4:58 p.m. - Subject entered into Buxbaum's pharmacy and appropriated a carry basket. 5:02 p.m. - Subject selected deodorant, brand unspecified. 5:03 p.m. - Subject received a cellular phone call from party identified as Jerry. Subject entered into intense conversation apparently associated with business, including numerous references to kidnapping and at least one mention of explosives."
Jax: Drilling rights.
Ofc. Ardanowski: excuse me?
Jax: My brother Jerry, he's trying to buy some drilling rights. He finds all of the most unlikely places.
Ofc. Ardanowski: I wouldn't know. However, I can substantiate your claim that you were nowhere near the hospital at the time Dr. Dorman was killed.
Jax: Would you?
Ofc. Ardanowski: I just said so.
Jax: No, I mean, would you do it now? You see, I'm already out on bail for drug smuggling. I'd just as soon skip a murder charge.
Ofc. Ardanowski: There's no chance of that. I'm sure the police are trying to uncover Dr. Dorman's drug cache. If he did frame you, they'll soon be able to prove it.
Jax: Well, that'd be a shame, wouldn't it? I mean, we are just starting to get to know each other.
Ofc. Ardanowski: I thought I annoyed you.
Jax: You do. But my mother seems to think it's good for me. See, she thinks that if I get everything my own way, I become insufferable.
Ofc. Ardanowski: hmm.
Jax: Do you think so?
Ofc. Ardanowski: I -- I couldn't say. I better get this to det. Taggert.
Jax: Thank you. Oh, and, Officer? Thank you for breakfast.
Ofc. Ardanowski: My pleasure.
