V: (Calling Jax from Airplane already on her way to see him) In fact it occurred to me that it might be more useful if I was out there with you.
J: Well I disagree.
V: But don't you even want to consider it?
J: Our arrangement is working fine. Listen, I have people on the other line, is there anything else?
V: No sir.
J: Then, have a good evening.
V looks distraught - imagines herself walking up to his house
Jax opens door J: What are you doing here?
V: I was just following my impulse (spoken like a question)
J: I told you to stay in New York. Now only have you disobeyed my order, you've invaded my privacy.
V: But, if you and I could just spend a little more time together.
J: Wait a minute, you're not suggesting - you and I?
V: Yes (meekly)
Jax bursts out laughing
V: I take it you're not that interested?
J: Let me get something straight right now. OK. I am a powerful international businessman, and you are - well - nothing. I mean if you walked out of my life right now I'd barely look up from my correspondence, which contain, I might add, marriage proposals from every contestant in this years Miss Universe Pageant.
V: You're right. What could you possibly see in someone like me?
J: Nothing. Besides I'm still hung up on Brenda Barrett.
V: (aside) So I've noticed. (To Jax) Maybe I could help you forget her.
J: (laughs) You and what modeling agency. Come on. If you're lucky maybe one day you and I will be casual friends, but to expect any more is an insult, to the handsome, wealthy, all around wonderful person that I am. Is that understood?
V: Yes sir, Mr. Jacks, sir.
J: Good. The airport's that way. (Jax leaves and then comes back)
J: Oh, one more thing. You're fired. (Closes door.)
Back to V on Plane - V. looks worried.
