With a very, extra special big thanks to Camia for actually *typing* all of this, for those of us who couldn't make it! Thank you, thank you, thank you again!
TVGDave: Welcome, Lisa. Glad you could make it tonight.
Lisa: I'm happy, happy, happy...!! I couldn't be more excited my contract on GH. I absolutely love my camera and have been patiently/impatiently waiting for the opportunity to do more with her and watch her grow. And that opportunity is finally here for me, so let's go the questions.
ghbuffyfan: Hi Lisa- I was one of those fans who camped out to get you a contract- I am so glad you finally got one!!! Where do you see your career going now-? Do you plan to stay on daytime for a long time or do you want to branch out to film and sitcoms? I think you have great comedic talent!
Lisa: The past year has taught me one really valuable lesson.
That I have not done up to this point in time but I will in the
future. And that is to live each day just for today. The year
that I didn't have a contract on GH and I was auditioning for
a lot of other projects, most of them I didn't prefer over GH,
and I found myself torn between auditioning for my future and
working at a job that I loved and wanted to be the best at. So
right now,
I am trying to completely focus on GH one week at a time, and
I just signed a contract, so I'm not really thinking about a future.
I am thinking about how really lovely my present is. I'll stay
on GH for as long as I feel inspired to play the character of
V and/or as long as they will have me.
Dawn_CrAzYeVoLoVe: How did you get the part of 'V'? Audition? Is there an interesting story behind it?
Lisa: I auditioned for Miranda and for Eve on Port Charles. And two weeks after I tested for Even and didn't book it, they called and offered me V.
crquast: Lisa, you rule. I absolutely love watching GH when you are on because you are so sincere, and I have a feeling your personality is very similar to the character. Is that true?
Lisa: Well put it this way. I went to the grocery store two
days ago to pick up my featured article for my parents. And I'm
kneeling there to find the magazine, and all these magazines above
my head completely fall upon my head! And I look up to try and
stop them and two more hit me in the head. And this guy who is
line at the checkout stand, he looked down at me and said, "You
must be V!" It was really cute. So -- yes. I'm pretty
similar to
V.
Darnyel: How did you get your start in showbiz?
Lisa: I did theater in high school and I transferred into a theater program in college from pre-med. And one day shortly after I graduated college, a manger from LA saw me perform in Phoenix and dared me to move to LA pretty much. And three weeks later I did. And that was four years ago.
jdolphin6: Hi Lisa, I think you are one of the most brilliant actresses, and I wanted to know who your inspiration was.
Lisa: Katherine Hepburn is huge. Lucille Ball, oh, I love her. I love Meryl Streep, Jessica Lange. And men - I absolutely adore Anthony Hopkins. Sean Penn, he's a young guy that I think is brilliant. Oh, and I love Goldie Hawn, too.
allie51182: Lisa-Ever have a goofy moment on the set?
Lisa: LOL! Every moment on the set is a goofy moment! I had Ingo punch me in the middle of a scene by accident once. That was very funny. It was one of those you had to be there. Just yesterday, I had a woman who came in for a guest star role dump a glass of champagne all over me. It's an accident prone set when V's on it!
brbarb3717: Hi Lisa - I love you as "V". Where were you born and what is your nationality?
Lisa: I was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan. That's the upper peninsula. Small town, like 10,000 people. And most of us are Italian. Thus my name. But my mother is French, so I'm half French.
MichelleDebra: Whatever happened to V's fondness for second-hand clothes? I mean, no offense, you look great, but the clothes are certainly not second-hand!
Lisa: Jax paid her well!
Daria197: Lisa do you hope that Jax and V will become a couple in the future?
Lisa: V is in love with Jax, but in her wildest fantasies she doesn't think he would ever fall for her. Lisa, on the other hand, would love more than anything to have this amazing , interesting, heartfelt, romantic storyline on GH. And I think that Ingo and I have great chemistry. So I think we could pull of a really touching love affair.
allie51182: Lisa-What is it like to work with Ingo Rademacher?
Lisa: I have a blast with Ingo. He's always in a great mood. He's a bit of a jokester. But always shows great support for me and my acting. And we've been friends since I've been hired.
Nimativ: I read you were in a show called Acapulco Bay, but I never heard of it. What was it about?
Lisa: It was a soap opera shot in Acapulco for seven months. It aired in a lot of foreign countries. A couple of cities in the US. And I played an 18 year old bratty little sister whose goal in life was to marry a rich man. Very different from V.
Darnyel: Was that you in Diagnosis Murder earlier this year?
Lisa: Yes. Um - yes.
ProudBecca: I am a big fan, and I can't wait to see this upcoming Monte Carlo story. Is there much comedy involved?
Lisa: Gosh, I haven't read anything from Monte Carlo yet. But I know from talking to the writer that there will be a few pretty funny comedic scenes.
CamiaV: Hi, Lisa! I'm one of the Visionaries who posted at ABC on the Hostage Board. Did you ever get a chance to visit the Hostage Board?
Lisa: I never visited the hostage board, but my best friend who lived in Michigan at the time, kept me abreast of everything that was going on. and I loved every minute of it.
c_bevers: Do you speak French, and if so, will it be used in the Monte Carlo story?
Lisa: I studied French for five years. However, I will be speaking a little Spanish in Monte Carlo.
Dawn_CrAzYeVoLoVe: Lisa, Venus is my absolute fave character on GH...she's so sweet and innocent, but is there any characteristic that you would like to change about 'V'?
Lisa: I would think the whole Monte Carlo escapade will make V a little more confident as a woman. And I'd like to see that happen.
Darnyel: Hi Lisa, I've been a great admirer of your work. I was thrilled to see V's break-out scene where she tore into everybody about Jax's arrest. How did you feel about doing the scene?
Lisa: When I first read the monologue I got chills because not only was it one of my first dramatic scenes, but it was a three page monologue and coming form a theater background, I love monologues. And it was also one of the first real times we got to see V really express herself so I loved it.
MichelleDebra: So...give us the scoop! What's happening during sweeps?
Lisa: Well that is Monte Carlo. But like I said, I haven't read anything yet. I think some fun stuff is going to happen between Katherine and Nikolas though. And I only think that because I'm also an avid watcher of GH!
crquast: My two favorite characters, besides you of course. are Bobbie and Alexis. Who's your favorite character on the show, and who do you like to work with most?
Lisa: Oh, tough! Tough question! Well I love working with Ingo. That's easy. And I really think, and I am not saying this to be politically correct, that there are so many really strong, interesting, unique actors on GH. There is no way I could pick a favorite. But -- I do love watching Sarah Brown's scenes.
DanaBulls23: Hi Lisa! What's the most embarrassing thing that's happened to you on the set?
Lisa: Well you know, I am tripping and falling so often on that set that few things embarrass me anymore, I never get embarrassed anymore!
Darnyel: What do you do when you're not at the GH studio?
Lisa: Now that I have a contract, I got a personal trainer. That's one thing. I love going to the movies. I love to roller blade. I am going to start some Spanish classes. I am thinking about taking guitar lessons. But that's kind of crazy, because I don't have a musical bone in my body. I live with my two best friends, which is wonderful. Oh, and I recently became a board game freak!
TVGDave: Lisa, thanks for joining us tonight...glad you could
make it.
