I'm looking for info on the JOHN OBREST family (my father was john born april 24, 1908 in coldwater, mi.). I am sure of his bd. his father and his father all where john obrest all with different middle names though. I believe my gfather married in coldwater or around that area, he married a girl names Lena COLLINS I would think around 18?? john and lena obrest had 7 children or so.. oldest was gladys, john, harriet, rodney, helena, geiniece, and the baby was kenneth obrest... i sure hope you can help me! I know very little or nothing about my grandmother.

Seeking info on the family of ISAAC ASELTINE/ASELTON who resided in Coldwater, Branch Co., circa 1857 to 1861. Especially seeking a death record/obit for one ISAAC ASELTON born N.Y. 1766/67. He was listed in the 1850 census of Ingham Co., MI with son, Isaac and wife Nancy along with Melvin, William, Sarah, Parmelia, Aurelia, and David. Most likely, in the 1857 census of Branch Co., was also listed AUSTIN who is my late great grandfather. Any info on this family and children would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to find information on John C. Obrest and Catherine Helena Obrest (Collins) Catherine Collins parents came from Ireland. SHe was born in Michigan in May of 1878, she married John C OBREST at age 22. John C OBREST was born in Michigan (Coldwater?) August 22, 1877...The Obrest family lived around Branch and Calhoun counties.
I am trying to find marriage records of them , and any information I can on COLLINS parents? I do know that they had 1 child that was born before the 1900, but died. I beleive they were married for 3 years at the time of the 1900 census?
I would like any death birth, records, or obits of anyone in this family.Even complete birth cert. on John Corneilus Obrest and Catherin Helena Collins. Thank you.

SMITH, Robert Elmore. B. 5/25/1868 (69?). Married 3 times. We have no name for first wife. Know she died Aug. 11, 1894 in Coldwater, MI. The second wife was Alice Leona Campbell. Married 4/25/1879. Died 7/23/1897. Third wife was Nancy Irene Mawhood. Married 8/3/81. Died 2/18/1932. The Smiths maintained their residence in Coldwater. Robert died 2/12/1935.

I would like to learn more about my 4gr grandmother Lucy PLUMB WATERS. She died at Union City, Branch Co., MI 29 Nov 1871. She was the widow of Amasa WATERS, who died 08 Sep 1819 at Preble, Cortland Co., NY. She was the mother of nine children. I am trying to figure out why she moved to Union City, MI after Amasa died. Emma died March 26, 1892 in Quincy, Branch Co, MI, had been a resident of Grand Rapids, Kent Co, MI, her funeral was held in Plainwell, Allegan Co, MI, and she's buried in West Cooper Cemetery, Cooper Twp, Kalamazoo Co, MI. It's hard to know where to look for information. Emma is buried in my ancestor's, Tobias MUSSELMAN and Arminda JOHNSON GODFREY'S, plot. Her headstone reads "wife of E.S. WELCH" and "mother". MCDONALD-- John McDonald came to Butler Township, Branch County, in the early 1860's from Oswego County, NY. John had eight children with his first wife, Mary T. Clarke of Oswego, Ny. Anna (b. 1839), Sarah (b. 1841), Roland (b. 1842), George (b. 1845), James (b. 1849), Emugine (b. 1853), Eleanor (b. 1854) and Alice (b. 1856). He brought his second wife, Cordelia Horton, [probably a widow], her 2 children, William Horton (b. 1854) and Adaline Horton (b. 1856)plus their two sons John McDonald (b. 1861), and Charles (b. 1864). They had 1 son in MI, Worden (b. 1866). Josiah McDonald receded John to Bulter Towhship and his brother Edward came shortly after him. Two sons, Rowland and George, remained farmers in Butler after his departure for TX in 1870/71. Rowland m. Mary A. Dorris and had 2 sons, Ranson and Clarence. George married Adaline Ball and had 4 sons, Lucius (b.1872), Clark (b. 1874), Clide (b. 1878) and George (b. 1880). With his second wife, Ida McMillan (b. 1858, Oswego,Ny) there was 8 children, Garr(b. 188 8), Fred (b. 1886), Charles(b. aft 1887), Bertha (b. 1891), Bessie(b. 1895), LaVerne (b. 1900), and John (b. 1902)

Hi, I'm Kathy Crowell, volunteer on the Onondaga Co., NY genweb site. Am researching THOMAS MOSELEY and PETER and REUBEN(possibly middle initial) DAVISON. Peter lived in Calhoun Co., census of 1840-1850-1860. His son, Reuben, married Mary Ewers of Manlius, NY in 1852. She returned to Manlius, NY and appears in 1860 Onondaga Co. census with a child that was b. in UNION CITY, MI ca. 1856 after having lost one child earlier. THOMAS MOSELEY (formerly of Manlius) m. in succesion two TILLOTSON girls, the later of whom gave birth to a child in Union City in the late 1850s. Both Thomas and Reuben are related via marriage. Seeking cemetery info on REUBEN and PETER DAVISON, THOMAS MOSELEY in Union City or nearby area, possibly Calhoun Co., possibly Riverside of Burr Oak Cemeteries. According to family history, PETER DAVISON (also spelled DAVIDSON) was an early settler of South Central Michigan.

BABCOCK born 3 Jul 1829 in Carlton, Orleans Co., New York; Reuben married Lucinda BARTHOLOMEW [of Erie Co., New York] on 17 Sept 1848 in Algansee Township, Branch Co., Michigan. Their first three children [William S., Charles H. and Amos D.] where born in Coldwater, Branch Co. Before 1858 they moved to Linn Co., Iowa. Any information on his parents, siblings, aunts, uncles... would be appreciated. The surname BABCOCK is still present in Branch Co.... possibly, also decedents of the Orleans Co., New York BABCOCKs.
