Bankia is a town, situated in the northern mountainside of Liulin at
628m above sea level, 17km westward from Sofia /the capital of
Bulgaria/. The town is a balneological resort with a mild climate and
medicinal mineral springs /36,5 degrees centigrade/. There are many
holiday houses, sanatoriums, cuontry houses and private buildings with
good conditions for tourism there.
Pancharevo is situated on the shore of the lake, bearing the same name
and river Bistritsa, 15km from Sofia. There is a mineral spring /47
degrees centigrade/, a beach, a rowing base, a camping-site,
restaurants, holiday houses and country houses there.
Dolna Bania is known as a health and a balneological resort. The
temperature of the mineral water there is up to 64 degrees centigrade.
The Maritsa river runs through the town. There are remains of a Roman
bath and ruins, dating back to the XIII-XIV cent. there.
Velingrad is situated in the Chepinska valley, 800m above sea-level.
There are about 70 mineral springs with different capacity and
temperature /24-90 degrees centigrade/ in the valley, which is the
biggest valley in the West Rhodopi mountains. There are sanatoriums,
holiday houses, a polyclinic, a swimming-pool with mineral water in
thetown and its suburbs.
Hisaria is one of the most popular well-run resorts in Bulgaria,
situated in a valley, surrounded by low uplands, 320m above sea-level.
There are about 16 mineral springs there. The water in each spring is
suitable for treatment of different troubles. There is a plant there, in
which the mineral water is aerated and bottled.
Narechen is a big health and balneological resort, situated in the
defile if Chepelarska river, 620m above sea-level.The mineral water
there takes the fourth place in Europe by its radioactivity.
