Here gather links to good parts of site and interesting or useful pages somewhere else. Sometimes same thing two or three places. Started site August 1997, then people write and put good ideas in book and send e-mail too. Now it is August 1999 and we organise a little. Maybe you understand that we will take time to make this list complete. Most of these links came from entries in my Sydney notebook or by e-mail from readers, maybe you can send in some more. :( but now it is March 2004 so see here for news :( |

Here is some good software that you can download. Someone say if you are a real programmer then you will not want to be slowed down by things that are meant to help ordinary people. (They say that is Bill Gates' excuse). Maybe artist not just programmer agree.
Webwasher - stops popup adverisements and things. It also stops moving GIF's, so you can switch it off before visiting this site. :)
Gallery - lets you look at all the pictures in a series on a web site without opening each page in turn. Very good for Japanese sites with only one photograph on each page.
Z-tree - lets you move files around quickly without opening folders or playing with the mouse.
Geoff Wise's Screen Saver - thinking about the microsoft desktop at work, Geoff Wise in the Australian wilderness is much better, maybe.
Yoko - This is the only thing we have found left from Sary's site; about 769,000 bytes, mov. Sorry this is Japanese only.
Chimp - Shadowjack sent this to us; about 350,000 bytes, mpeg. Why he wants us to see this, I don't know.
Chiba-sensei - Shows why Kendo exciting; 1,436,863 bytes, mpeg. I steal from Hawaii kendo site, thanks to e-mail suggestion.
You Kizaki - Singing, thanks to renga suggestion; about 1,656,000 bytes, mpeg. Sorry this is Japanese only. (Sometimes name translates as Yu Kizaki.)
Started site August 1997. Why, because some Sydney people take themselves too seriously. But many readers write and put good ideas in book and send e-mail too. Now it is August 1999 and we organise a little. Original picture pages from 1997 restore now. Alive pages are notebook, gallery, Martin's joke folder and this site map, maybe. And Renga is new!
Some people ask for more of my outdoor pictures. Answer is maybe, but as aussie friend say, "Don't hold your breath". but you have some bushwalking photos that you are too embarrassed to put in your album, I think. So scan them and make your own web site or just e-mail them to me. My readers will enjoy them. Even a print that looks fuzzy on paper can look ok on computer screen.
It is now September 2000 and time for a small upgrade. For those people who have wanted more pictures I have started a new page for spare pictures and for contributions. It could be like renga, traditional Japanese linking poem, if people send in picture or words to follow from last verse. Idea comes from Tokyophoto.com. For curious boys who will ask, "r u the model or the photographer?", I say most photos were sent in, and about the others, I am not saying!
Another question from Japan and US is are places real. Answer is yes, these places are all close to Sydney. The main waterfront picture is only 6 km north from the bridge. The others are where they say they are. (Ok, some 'Renga' contributions are guesses. And Uralla is 5 hours from Sydney, and last two Uralla photos are not.) To learn more, buy map at camping shop.
Please write something in my notebook. Note big problem in 2001. Yahoo stopped Geocities guestbook system that used to let anyone send in anything. I just started this site and sat back to watch it grow. Now we have choice of boring standard guestbook with yahoo boring questions or doing some more work to post people's contributions. So now (June 2002) try Network54, so you can comment on other people's messages. Lets see what happens. :(
