I was an urban transit operator who drove around Perth, the capital city of Western Australia for Metrobus. On July 4, of 1998, The government of West Oz completed its privatisation of Perth's world class public transport system. The end result is a system that has been described by academics as the worst in a developed country, which is a nice way of saying that Transperth is no better than that of third world economies. Transperth, by the way, is the 'name' of the public transport system which includes buses, trains and ferries. Metrobus was a service provider for Transperth. It is a far cry from the service we were only 3 or 4 years ago when Transperth was considered an innovative organization by public transport providers world wide. Many, many international public transport management teams came to Perth to see how we did things, to learn how we did things, and all better. I am going to leave this little piece about Transperth here, so I can say to my kids in a few years from now....'see, I told you so!' when the system collapses, and the government of Richard 'I AM NOT A PUPPET OF MY FATHER' Court finally admits that it fucked up the best public transprt sytem in the world.

(I'll tell you more) if anything interesting comes up....and it did...my depot at Redcliffe is being taken over by a French mob, not even an Australian company got the nod, CGE. Redcliffe Depot is now known as Rosehill Depot, which is a lovely name....not!! Apparently CGE have a large web in Europe, and I guess they decided to put in their claim for a bit of West Oz...perhaps it has something to do with the recent discovery of a French document that perhaps indicates that France had the first bite at sovereignty over the west coast of Australia!!!:) Too late M'suir ;)
