While this scene is not from The Maltese Falcon., but rather another all-time great film classic - Casablanca - it is one of Humphrey Bogart's most famous ones. It is forever in my signature, and to me exemplifies "who you are as an individual, why you must retain that individualality, and I salute you". In the Casablanca flashback scene at Ilsa's Paris hotel, champagne in hand, they toast each other and clink their glasses, Rick utters his classic line for the first time: "Ilsa, I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that. Not, now. Here's looking at you, kid. " Please return again and visit The Maltese Falcon. I will endeavour to update this website as often as possible - as it is a labour of love, and not for compensation, these updates will not be regular ... this working for a living takes up a disproportionate amount of time. Any submissions of information about Humphrey Bogart and The Maltese Falcon are appreciated ... especially "little known" tidbits that fans may never have seen before.
