Welcome to the
St. Patrick's Day Bash!

Shamrock

It's almost March 17th! We're going to try and entertain you, educate you, and hopefully anticipate the arrival of St. Patrick's Day. Isn't it a great holiday?!!

Well, the first thing you need to do is have a good hearty Irish Breakfast, so you'll be energized and ready to see everything on this site! Might I suggest the Irish Breakfast Home Page? While you're digesting that, why don't you browse through a newspaper or two and see what's happening on the Emerald Isle. There's The Irish Times, the Irish Emigrant or News of Ireland. Or perhaps you'd rather read The Belfast Telegraph. For just about anything else Irish, check out All Things Irish, a list of news, politics, entertainment, travel, lodging, business, and many other things.

Leprechaun Alert! Here's something to get your heart yearning for March 17th, read a little about St. Patrick's Day by Amy Battis. Ever wonder how all those St. Patrick's Day parades got started? Another good green spot is A Wee Bit 'O Fun. Speaking of green, you've got to visit The Green Pages, the ultimate directory of Irish sites on the Internet.

Why don't you send someone a St. Patrick's Day Card? There's also St. Patrick's Day E-cards.

leprechaun No Irish party is complete without music. Check out RCA's Irish recordings (The Chieftains and James Galway) Or try Irish and Celtic Music on the Internet. One of my favorites is Reel Music. If you can't find what you're looking for at those places, Ceolas Celtic Music Archive will surely have it!

Irish Flag Now, let's learn a little about Ireland. You can have an Irish Map to click on--take a virtual tour of Ireland. It'll be fun and you'll learn stuff! Or you can read Dagda: An Irish Story. Check this out: lots of links about Irish History. Look at some of the Stones of Ireland.

Team Did you enjoy the Olympics? I know, what in heck does the Olympics have to do with St. Patrick's Day? Well, Team Ireland, of course! Didn't Michelle Smith do fantastic? Three gold medals and one bronze in Olympic swimming. Yeah!

Speaking of sports, take a look at the Irish Sports Report (it's about Notre Dame). Even if you don't like sports, go there to look at the shamrocks! Plus they have a cool puzzle.

But, for those of you who came to have fun, here's some interesting sites to visit. How 'bout a trip down Lucky Leprechaun Lane--a netland of magical mists, lucky leprechauns and plenty of green! There's always the Virtual Irish Pub. The Thistle & Joe Virtual Pub is pretty interesting too. Or go straight to the source: Guinness.

RainbowDo come back again! I just love celebrating St. Patrick's Day and the more, the merrier! May the leprechauns bring me a pot of gold from the end of the rainbow. Ah, 'tis true, you know, that pot of gold! Can't you see it?
