I was born in a wonderful city called Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. After my birth, a little while ago, I've lived in the following cities: Governador Valadares-MG, São Paulo-SP, Paraiba do Sul-RJ, Valença-RJ, Brasília-DF, Belo Horizonte-MG, Viçosa-MG where I got my BS degree in Agronomy, Manaus-AM where I started my professional life at EMBRAPA, Ithaca-NY where I got my MSc degree at Cornell University, back again to Brasília-DF, and back to Ithaca-NY where I'm working on my Ph.D. program at Cornell since August, 1994.
