Since April 19, 1997, I've lived in Eldersburg, MD, a small town just outside of Baltimore. I live in a beautiful brick-and-wood shingle rambler that I share with my husband, Harry, and our West Highland White Terrier, Arwen. We have a very large yard and a lovely old residential neighborhood around us. Eldersburg is close enough to the city to take advantage of its nightlife and culture, but far enough away to avoid the big-city problems. Living in Carroll County, we even avoid high City-County taxes in B-more!Though I spent four years in Carlisle, PA, at Dickinson College, I am originally from North Huntingdon, PA, which is just a bit east of Pittsburgh. North Huntingdon is a rather large township in Westmoreland County, so more specifically, I am from Paintertown, a tiny village of maybe 100 houses nestled in the hilly woodlands of Western PA. It is very beautiful.
My hometown may be small, but my family certainly isn't. I am the youngest of three children, and the only girl (Gee, I'm not spoiled...Alright. Maybe a little! *grin*). My parents are Bob and Norma, and my brothers are David and Dale. They are 12 and 10 years older than me, respectively. I have an ex-sister-in-law and two sisters-in-law (Cindy and Jeanie), as well as four handsome, rambunctious nephews and one adorable (and also-spoiled) niece. Also in my family, I have about a million aunts and uncles, and about half a billion cousins. Ok, slight exaggeration, but we really are a very large, very close family. Mess with one of us and you mess with us all. Grrr... *wink*
Since my move to Maryland and my marriage, I've inherited a whole new family - complete with actual living grandparents [a luxury I've lacked since age 10!] Harry's family and friends are wonderful and have welcomed me with open arms. [Thank God!]
I am also blessed in this life to have many dear friends, too numerous to mention here. Suffice it to say, they know who they are...and they best keep in touch! *hint, hint...if it's been a while, email me you guys!*
