The Basics:
The wedding was a double-ring ceremony held at the church Dawn was baptized and confirmed in, Paintertown Evangelical Lutheran Church in Irwin, PA.Date: Saturday, August 21, 1999
Time: 5:30 p.m.
Officiant: Pastor Dorothy Worth
The Service:
Liturgy: The liturgy of the service followed that printed in the Lutheran Book of Worship.Vows: The vows were the traditional vows from the Book of Common Prayer [since Harry is Methodist and that's their primary worship guide...besides both Dawn and Harry like the old-fashioned, traditional vows].
The Readings: I Corinthians 13:4-8a, 13 - "Love is patient, love is kind..." etc.
Gospel: Matthew 19:4-6 - "...a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and the two will become one flesh..." etc.The Music: Preludes were Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" and Pachelbel's "Canon in D" played on the piano by Dawn's nephew, Kennith. [Prodigy! He was 12 and taught himself to play the piano! Totally surprised Dawn and his parents, who have since signed him up for lessons with a proper teacher.]
The processional and recessional were on the bagpipes, played by Bette, a piper with Dunloggin, Harry's old band. "Highland Cathedral" for the processional and "Cabar Feigh" for the recessional.
