The beaded dragon is part of my oriental jacket I just finished. An old Inspirations magazine had this design stitched on a pair of Chinese flats. I couldn't see myself wearing shoes decorated like that, but I wanted to stitch it, so did it up on some black satin. It lived in a drawer for a couple years until I started working on the oriental jacket. It said it wanted to go on the jacket -- Who am I to argue with a dragon?
Fairy Lady ...
This little fairy is a motif I stitched
that hasn't found its way into a project yet. It's an iron-on transfer
from a Dover book. I didn't want to just outline stitch her, fairies
can't be plain, you know. So, her hair is many bullion knots, her
face is split stitch in one strand of silk, her wings satin stitched with
Empress silk and outlined with hologram thread, her dress is satin stitched
and she holds a silk ribbon flower. This was stitched during my youngest
son's baseball practices. (You only have to pay attention during the games.)
