O

Off the starboard wing (the right side) you see it!

The docking area for the cruise ships at Key West.

Here's a picture (stolen from Shawn) of the longest street in the world. It runs from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico! And it's in, guess what, Key West

This has got to be one of the best pictures I've ever seen. Shawn took it with one of those disposable cameras that you get in a cardboard box. We were flying in Dan Haggertys Cessna 182 that left from his own field at MM20. Here it is (from the air of course, again courtesy of Shawn McGill, photographer).

If you ever get to Key West, I'm sure that you'll want to do the "tourist" thing and go to the famous places. Places like Sloppy Joe's, famous for being PaPa Hemmingways hangout. Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville and of course the world famous Hog's Breath Saloon . Go ahead, ride the Conch train and see a museum or two. Then when you get good and tired of all the high prices and trendy crap, come on over to the best place in Key West to just sit and have a drink or six

The Bull and Whistle

Don't get confused because you don't see the name "Bull" in this picture. The Bull is the downstairs bar (the one where Shawn and I hang out). The Whistle is upstairs and frankly I can't tell you a single thing about it. Never got there.

Like I said at the beginning, if my retirement thing goes as hoped, there is every chance you could find me holding down a stool there. Just look at the picture on Page 2 and if you see me, stop over and say Hello. I'll be glad to meet you.

I've mentioned Shawn over and over. I guess the best place to meet him is going to be on this Key West page.

Just click on the River Water Conch to see him. You will have to use your browsers "back" button to come back here after that.

Of course, he also looks like this on occasion

He'll probably want to kill me for this one!

There's a whole lot more to Key West. I hope that you will try it out for yourself.
