about
The Dominican Republic, one of the first tourist destination on the Caribbean. The Dominican Republic is
a real vacation paradise. In it appropiate geography
The Dominican Republic has wonderful white-sand and sunny beaches, fresh mountains, and a moderate year-round climate.
The hospitality of the dominican people is well known by tourists, who every year repeatedly visit this friendly country. The hottest discotheques and most attractive pubs and cafes of the Caribbean
are here.
There is a lot of beach Resorts and hotels in mayor tourist Dominican towns. So, if you want to get a beautiful tan even in the winter, to practice scuba
diving in transparent warm waters, to learn to dance Merengue
and Salsa with natural born dancing-instructors, this is the right place!
...Oh yes, I just remember another attraction: the whales,....yes, if you love ecotourism you must visit us from February to March and see the Humpback Whales in the National Sanctuary, located near Samana coast. Not as frequently have been seen Manatees. You can climb the highest peak in West Indies, Pico Duarte; or enjoy cool fresh mountain air in the Jarabacoa forest or the exhuberant tropical forest of Los Haitises National Park. You can see our american crocodiles in the Enriquillo Lake or take a relaxing bath in Las Marias waters. Explore hundreds of caves in the island contacting Espeleogrupo. For windsurfers I recommend two beaches, Cabarete, in the north coast and Salinas, in the south coast. The east coast is ideal for fishing and yating, there every year goes international fishing tournaments. Ask for Cabeza de Toro and Boca de Yuma Fishing Tournaments. It's enough?...O.k. dress up adequatelly and come with me to take a cultural walk in Santo Domingo. First we'll visit The Dominican Man Museum (..me neither, I dont like that name), so you can learn something about Dominican History and folklore, and then on the same Plaza de La Cultura, you'll be surprised to see what our native talent can produce at The Modern Art Gallery or any other Art Gallery in the city. I haven't told you about the Santo Domingo Colonial City!. Santo Domingo is the oldest city built by Spain in The New World, in 1990 The UNESCO World Heritage Committee included Santo Dominigo Colonial City on the World Heritage List , it has a lot of monuments 16th Century. Interesting nightlife places nearby Plaza España are: Cafe Concierto Bachata Rosa, El Museo del Jamon, Drake's Cafe. There are others most-to-visit places in Santo Domingo: if you are not claustrophobic, try to dance in a underground cave, La Guacara Taina and if you alredy enjoy caveman instincs, have a dinner near La Guacara at El Meson de La Cava (...yes, another cave!). I don't know why, but visitors never miss a dominican dinner buffet at El Conuco. Try a Sancocho. Do you want to eat like you eat at home? .No problem!, your traditional American fast-food restaurants are present in Santo Domingo; eat a Burguer, a Pizza, a Subdwich or a Taco.
