Yacht & Beach Club Resort
The Disney Yacht & Beach Club Resort is located just west of Epcot and is set around a 25-acre lake. The adjacent properties share most facilities and transportation options. They are both similar in style and design. The main theme being the beach.
The Yacht & Beach Clubs resembles the New England hotel of the late 1800's. Avery natical theme with its hardwood floors and brass enhancements.
The rooms at the Yacht & Beach Club are both spacious and decorated in nautical motif. My favorite! In each room the furniture is white with carvings of small ship's wheels in the headboard. The brooms come in either two queen-size beds with daybeds. Some rooms have one king-size bed with two sleeper sofas. The bathrooms are large and have seperate vanity with double sinks. Each room has a ceiling fan, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, newspaper delivery, mini-bar,makeup mirrors and table with checkerboard tops. Chess and checkers set can be provided or bring your own. The rooms at the Yacht & Beach Club range from $269.00 per night to $500.00 per night. Remember price depends on the time of year you are visiting. The Yacht Club Concierge rooms are $5.00 more per night than the Beach Clubs Deluxe rooms.
Restaurants at the Disney Yacht & Beach Club include the following:
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop: This is a classic American soda fountain shop. Come for a shake, malt or sundae. The shop is located between the two resorts.
Cape May Cafe: Each night at the Beach Club feast on an indoor clambake. This is buffet style and offers clams, mussel, pasta, and chicken. Lobster is also available for an extra charge. Each morning this cafe has a character hosting its breakfast.
Hurricane Hanna's Grill: On the shores of Stormalong Bay you can find great quick meals like burgers, hotdogs,sausages, and also light snacks. A full bar is available with poolside service.
Yacht Club Galley: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served a' la carte style.
Yachtsman Steakhouse: If your looking for a great steak then you must check this restaurant out. In addition to steak they also offer fresh seafood and poultry.
Lounges: There are four wonderful lounges to visit.
Ale and Compass: The Yacht Club lobby lounge offers specialty coffees and spirits.
Crews Cup: This bar is located next to the Steakhouse. It's a great place to try a wide assortment of beers shipped in from all over the world.
Martha's Vineyard: This lounge is located at the Beach Club and offers selections of American and International wines. Served by the glass or bottle.
Rip Tide: The Beach Club lobby lounge features California wines, wine coolers and frozen specialty drinks.
What To Do:
Swimming: Stormalong Bay is a three-acre pool that is really a mini water park. There is a lagoon for relaxed bathing and an active lagoon with jets,currents and sandbottomed areas. There are several whirlpools located around. Adjacent to the main pool is a shipwreck with crazy fun slides. There are quiet pools found at the far end of each hotel.
Playground: A small playground can be found by the pool.
Health Club: The Ship Shape health club has a variety of nautilas equipment. It also features sauna, whirlpool and steam room. You must be over the age of 13 to use this facility.
Salon: The Periwig salon is located in the central area.
Shopping: The Yacht Clubs Fitting & Fairings Clothes and Notions is an all purpose shop which has character merchandise, fashions, sundries, etc. . The Beach Clubs Atlantic Wear and Wardrobe Emporium features a similar selection of goods.
Video Arcades: Lafferty Place Arcade is located in the Central area..
Tennis:There are two lighted tennis courts on the Beach Club side.
Boating: Hydro bikes and canopy, pontoon, petal and water mouse boats are available to rent at the Bayside Marina.
Children's Program: The Sandcastle Club is for children ages 4 through 12. The cost is $5.00 per hour and runs from 4:30 p.m. until midnight. Call for reservation 407-939-3463.
There are other wonderful events to do; sand volleyball, croquet, miniature golf, fishing excursions, garden tours etc. This is one complete resort.
Child Care: In-Room Child Care- Private service by KinderCare Learning Centers is available to Walt Disney World Resort guests with 24-hour advance notice. Call 407-827-5444
Transportation: Watercraft go to the Disney MGM-Studios, buses go to downtown Disney or the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom or the water parks. You can ride boats or walk to the nearby Epcot entrance.
Fun Facts-Did you know that Disneys Stormalong Bay pool holds 750,000 gallons of water and is the largest sand-bottom pool in the world, and I don't mean just Disney World.
