Polynesian Resort

The Disney Polynesian Resort gives you a real flavor of being in the tropics. With all the palm trees, tropical plants, vegetation, and volcanic rock you feel like your in Hawaii. What a beautiful resort to stay in.This resort offers many extras.

The rooms at the Disney Polynesian Resort are seperated by avariety of  Pacific Island names. The main building for registration, shopping and restaurants is called the Great Ceremonial House. This resort has 853 newly refurbished rooms (re-done in 1998). Most of the rooms have balconies with great views. Most rooms have two queen-size beds and a daybed and can accomadate five people. Some have a king-size bed and a queen-size bed in the parlor. The rooms at this resort start at $279.00 per night and can go up to $500.00 per night.

Restaurants at the Disney Polynesian  Resort include the following:

Captain Cook's Snack Company: On the lobby in the Great Ceremonial House there is a good spot for your continental breakfast. It's good to know that snacks are available 24 hours a day.

Kona Cafe: On the second floor of the Great Ceremonial House there is a family restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch,and dinner. Lunch and dinner has an Asian taste while breakfast has American selections.

Ohana: Also on the second floor of the Great Ceremonial House you can find family style dinners. Minnie is here every morning to welcome you to her special breakfast.

Lounges: There are two different  bars to wet your whistle.

Barefoot Bar: At the Swimming Pool Lagoon you can wet your whistle, seasonally.

Tambu: This bar is adjoining to the 'Ohana restaurant. If you like exotic specialty drinks then come here.

What To Do:
Swimming: There are two main pools. The larger pool is the Swimming Pool Lagoon and is found near the marina and main beach. This pool has a water slide made from a cluster of boulders. The other pool called East Pool is located near the Oahu, Hawaii, Bora Bora buildings.Both pools feature underwater music. There is a wading pool for the little ones.

Playground: The playground is located near the Swimming Pool Lagoon.

Health Club: The Contemporary Health Club has a large variety of equipment and offer masages by appointment.

Shopping: Check out News from Civilization located on the first floor of the Great Ceremonial House. They have everyday items, sun care products, newspaper and all that plus hotel and polynesian items. Then go upstairs and visit Trader Jacks for Walt Disney Souvenirs etc.

Video Arcades: Moana Mickey's Arcade is located near the Oahu guest building.

Boating: The Marina has a large variety of water boats. There are sunfish and hobie waves, canopy boats, water mouse boats, and jet boats.

Children's Program: The Never Land Club is a supervised evening activity which runs from 5 p.m. until midnight. This is for children between the ages of 4 and 12. The cost is $8.00 per hour. Call to make reservations 407-939-3463

Child Care: In-Room Child Care- Private service by KinderCare Learning Centers is available to Walt Disney World Resort guests with 24-hour advance notice. Call 407-827-5444

Transportation:  The Polynesian  Resort is connected to the Transportation and Ticket Center. The Magic Kingdom can be reached by the monorail. The other Theme Parks and Water Parks can be reached by buses at the Transportation and Ticket Center. The same applys for Downtown Disney, Pleasure Island, etc.

Fun Facts-Did you know that the white sand on the beaches actually came from the bottom of the  Disney Man made lake (Bay Lake).
