Photography is an old hobby. I still have the first picture I took, using my father's all-manual Yashica. I cut off my brother's head. :-) But I have developed a lot since then and nowadays my photos are very successful among my friends. My first camera was a Canon AV-1 with a 50mm lens. It was a semi-automatic one, but very nice. I bought it in New York in 1982 and in its manual I learned almost everything I know about photography. Later I have acquired other lenses: a 28mm and a zoom 70-210mm, both Canon. By the way, this 28mm is a fantastic lens, with an image quality I never found in any other. But with time it became too simple for me and I decided to get a more modern camera, with auto-exposure and auto-focus, though still allowing me to have full control of all settings: I bought, in the end of 1991, a Minolta Maxxum 7xi with two Tokina lenses (28-70mm and 70-210mm). Great camera, but I think I need better lenses. Pity I let some water drop on it during my trip in the Caribbean and it stopped working... I have to see if it can be fixed, but anyway I bought a Minolta 600si, which has some better and worse features than the 7xi. I also had an "auto-everything" Pentax IQ Zomm 90 camera, whose excelent image quality surprised me, but one of my brothers returned it to me out of work... In 2000 I purchased a Sealife Reefmaster, for underwater pictures. Recently I joined the digital photography era, with the small Fuji FinePix 2650. I'm liking it very much and photos are turning our fairly good, as you can check on the tests I ran, by clicking here.
As my passion for photography is very big, I have a special page, Photography Corner (English only), where you can find some of my photos, as well as my friends', plus an extensive list of links. See you there! banner created by Carlos Benigno |
