MMDS ( Multichannel Multipoint Distribution Systems ) Subscribers receive programmes on microwave antennae. Signals are then reduced by down converters to standard UHF channels and unencrpted for reception on ordinary TV sets. MMDS transmitters cover Bangkok and nine other major cities. |
DTH ( Direct to Home satellite-delivered service ) Subscribers are provided with intefrated Ku-band reciever-decoders ( IRD's ) and satellite antennas 60 cm in diameter. It operates in parallel with the MMDS network. |

UTV Broadcasting systems Fibre optic cable - TV signals from all sources are converted into optical signals at the UTV station. They then pass through the underground fibre optic cable network to the nodes (RCU) of UTV and are reconverted into TV signals. From here they are transmitted via coaxiable cable and dispersed directly to subscribers. This Hybrid Fibre / Coaxial System allows for interactive communication - From your home to their station and vice versa. Serviced area cover Greater Bangkok and Khon Khaen. |
Subscribtion rates 2,600 baht installation fee with an additional 1,000 baht for each extra outlet; 500 baht deposit for UTV box per outlet; 800 baht monthly subscription fee for nine channels or 400 baht for three channels and 180 baht per each additional outlet. |
