Twice upon a time a nice young couple headed south for a Windjammer Cruise.

Saturday, May 5th we left from Dallas-Fort Worth Airport at the crack of dawn. We were feeling a little fuzzy as you can tell.

3 flights later, we landed on Grenada late at night. Our hotel booking was messed up. There was a big cricket match on the island and the people in our room decided to stay.

We were worried that this could be a problem, but the management at the Coyaba Inn had gotten us a room at the Spice Island Resort.

A room? This was a suite! with a private pool! It was a little pricier than we expected, but the Coyaba had gotten us a great rate.

There was a outdoor pool, lounge chairs, a breakfast table facing the beach, a jacuzzi built for two. It was marvelous.

This is when we knew that we were headed for a great vacation.

In the morning we walked down the beach for breakfast. Then spent most of the day relaxing and putting the office behind us.

Grande Anse beach Our beautiful pool Our beautiful entry way
At 3pm we had to leave and the taxi took us to the Tropicana Bar near the dock.

The Yankee Clipper accepts "stowaways" after 5:30 pm the night before the cruise officially begins. We sat and drank and met some fellow travelers.

From Golden, Colorado four fun-loving boys: Johnnie, Al, Mike and Duane.

From near Coco Beach, Florida: Dale and Paula McGuire. (this picture is from later in the cruise)

The boys: Johnnie, Al, Mike and Duane Dale and Paula McGuire

In the special way the world has of throwing like-minded people together, these six people were our favorite companions for the next week.

Coming aboard means leaving the mainland ways behind. The crew leads us to our cabin and we dropped our bags and went back topside.

Rum Swizzles are an important part of each evening aboard the ship. We sip ours and talk with the other stowaways.

The moon came up over the Grenadian mountains. It was full for the first two nights. Beautiful!
