------------Many people thought X-Raided’s career was over after the release of his first cd since he was sent to jail for life. But X-Raided proved them wrong with releasing this cd, and a few others after, from jail. All the lyrics were done over the phone, unlike “Unforgiven Vol.1” which was actually recorded on some sort of a machine. So how does the now notorious gangsta rapper do on his second release? Lets just say that he has had better.
___After only hearing a few minutes of this cd you will immediately notice the quality of the vocals. You can tell they are recorded over the phone and this creates a very poor sounding in terms of lyrics. At times X-Raided vocals are muffled and can’t be heard. Considering how the vocals sound you would think this cd would at least have some banging beats to compensate. Unfortunately that’s not the case as the beats leave a lot to be desired. I just ain’t feeling most of the beats on this and that’s a disappointment considering most Black Market cds are filled with, at the least, tight beats.
___Even with lackluster beats and poor sounding lyrics there are some songs that are good. “Check Your Bitch” and “Deuce-5 To Life” both deal with how X-Raided got locked up and are really deep songs with great lyrics. I think they show that X-Raided is capable of songs that just don’t deal with killing people. But don’t think X-Raided didn’t go soft as songs like “Recognize”, “Liquor, and "Niggaz & Triggas” remind you this is still the same X-Raided. “Body Count” and “Unfukwitable” would have been good songs if not for the fact that some female rapper called Da Misses appears on them and completely ruins the track. Da Misses is one of the worst rappers I have ever heard and she is fucking awful with not only her lyrics but her flow. After only hearing her for a few seconds will have you reaching for the skip button as she is that bad. And for some reason they decided to give her a solo track “Done Deal”. I couldn’t even listen to the whole songs because it was that bad. The only song she manages not to ruin is “Wit A Mask On” which is one of the best tracks on the cd. Also Lunasicc has a solo song on this cd called “Wanna Get High?”. This is some R&B shit and doesn’t belong on the cd at all.
___Its too bad this cd wasn’t very good. It was beyond the control of X-Raided that the lyrics didn’t sound good because at the time that’s all he had available. The beats were also something he couldn’t do anything about. And with forgettable guest appearances this cd has nothing going for it. But with all the shortcomings X-Raided still managed to create a decent cd. Fortunately X-Raided got it right with “Unforgiven Vol.1” and shows that he can still make excellent cds. Only fans of X-Raided should pick this cd up.
