Mathematical symbols and formulas must be typed. Standard symbols should be used whenever possible. all non-standard abbreviations and symbols should be defined when first mentioned. Subscript and superscript must be readily apparent. Equations, at least the principal ones, should be numbered consecutively in the right-hand margin in curved parentheses. For nested equations use the following sequence of parentheses for grouping: {[()]}.
Illustrations: Charts and diagrams should be submitted in an original form suitable for direct reproduction. They should be supplied as clear black-and-white drawings with clear lettering all large enough to be reduced, if desired, in the same proportion. Photographs should be in focus, of high constrat, and submitted as glossy prints. Additional lettering and marking should be supplied on a separate cover sheet. Photograph should not be lettered with pencil or ink. Charts, diagrams and photographs are to be referred to as "figures" and should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are referred to in the manuscript. Figure legends should be typed on a separate sheet. The amount of lettering ona chart or diagram should be reduced as far as possible by transferring it to the legend.
Tables should be typed on separate sheets. Tables should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are referred to in the manuscript. In order to avoid the introduction of errors, tables may be reproduced directly from the authors typescript and as such will be treated in the same way as illustrations
Standard International (SI) Units should be used. Other units may be included in parentheses.
References to pubished literature should be qouted in the text be numbers in square brackets. The numbers should be introduced consecutively and grouped together at the end of the paper with the corresponding references. The list of references should include only the publications that are referred to in the body of the manuscript . In listing references for papers, books, conference, proceedings and dissertations, the following guidelines should be followed in the chlornological order indicated:
Appendices can be arranged alphabetically with letters. Appendices may contain additional mathematical details, computer listings, or any other supporting material.
If Computer listings are submitted with the manuscript they should be printed with high quality printers or a typewriter on white unmarked paper. to avoid the introduction of errors, computer listings may be reproduced directly from the author(s) typescript and as such will be treated in the same way as illustrations.
Electronic Form: Authors are encouraged to submit manuscript on IBM-compatible diskettes or MAC as well as hard copy. To speed publications we use standard text formatting program and to avoid incompatibilities we request the author(s) to send in plain ASCII text files. Text written on Microsoft Word 2.0 for windows are recommended.
Page Proofs: Proofs will be sentto the author(s) for checking and final corrections. Only minor amendments are allowed at this stage.
Reprints of papers can be ordered with charge from the Sudanese Engineering Society
Copyright: Submission of a manuscript implies that the work described has not been publshed before, except in the form of an abstract or part of a published lecture, review, or thesis; that the work has not been submitted simultaneously for possible publication elswhere; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities at the institute where the work has been carried out; that, if and when the manuscript is accepted for publication , the author(s) agree to automatic transfer of the copyright to the pubisher; that the manuscript will not be published elsewhere in any language without the wirtten consent of thecopyright holder; that written permission of the copyright holder is obtained by the authors for material used from other copyrighted sources; and that any costs associated with obtaining this permission are the author(s) reponsibility.
