The "life" of Lady Death began when she was a young girl named Hope in medieval Europe. She
was the daughter of a demonic feudal lord, Matthias, a 666th generation descendant of fallen
angels, and Marlon, a woman so pure her bloodline reached to Heaven. Matthias also conjured
demons in an attempt to enter Hell and challenge Lucifer himself for control. When the peasants
eventually revolted, they stormed the Castle, and killed Mathias. They also took Hope,
believing her to be a witch, and prepared to burn her at the stake! In a desperate attempt to
escape, Hope recalled her father's words, and she conjured up the same demons. When they
appeared, they told her that they could free her, if and only if, she renounced her humanity.
Seeking any escape from certain death, Hope did just that, and renounced her humanity. She was
instantly transported into Hell as a result. Once there, she became entangled in a grand
manipulation devised by Lucifer himself. A centuries-long plan, his goal was to take a child so
pure and filled with light and change her to a child of darkness. In this he succeeded too well.
Finally, after many lies and deceptions, Lady Death overcame The Father of Lies by casting him
through Heaven's gate-only those worthy can pass through the gate. She is a woman of
contradictions-and with good reason: the blood of both angels and demons runs through her
veins. Lady Death is an immensely powerful natural sorceress, and a savage self-trained warrior
who can manifest her sword, Darkness, at will. Now, she's banished from Hell, which is where
her most revealing journey ever begins.
