Interests
Travel - I like to travel. At my previous jobs I was in marketing and business development and was able to travel all over the US, Europe and Asia. Then with the frequent flyer miles earned I traveled more. The Christmas holidays usually found me in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South America or Africa where it was warm. See Trips
Mountaineering - I like hiking and climbing in the mountains for the exercise and scenery. When I lived in California, I climbed all its 14,000 foot peaks and have been trekking in the Himalayas twice, climbing Island Peak which is 20,315 feet.
Electronics - I am an electronic engineer and always keep up with the latest in PC's, audio and video. I have a Dolby Digital 5.1 Channel Surround system with satellite TV and many DVDs, a P-III computer with CD-Burner, film and flatbed scanners plus a digital camera and many other toys.
Reading - I like to read books on recent history (to better understand things that happened in my lifetime), fiction written by local authors in Bangkok (I can easily picture where the action is happening and can see Bangkok from someone else's eyes), business and investing books.
Motorcycles - In my younger days I did a lot of dirt bike riding and racing in the Mojave desert. I rode in many enduros and finished the Barstow to Vegas race in 1973 and 1975. Also did a lot of riding in Baja California.
Cars - I previously owned a 1966 Shelby GT-350 that I autocrossed and a 1974 Porsche Carrera that I raced in club time trials. Now in Bangkok, I haven't owned a car in five years.
Hanging Out - Bangkok is a great place to hang out and meet interesting people. There are many/many bars, but a just a few that are real expat hangouts, and there are certain times for each bar. Most are just a short walk or taxi ride from my apartment.
