POLICING

Me!

When I'm not thinking about Fiji, I can be found volunteering some of my time to the Ontario Provincial Police Auxiliary in Ontario, Canada. I am a twelve-year member of the OPP Auxiliary and keep company with almost 800 members who patrol with the regular officers of the Ontario Provincial Police. When not patrolling, the dedicated men and women of the Auxiliary can be found assisting at special events in the community, joining into Community Policing Committees and maintaining their level of training.

There are many Auxiliary Policing Programs operating across Canada. For more information on these programs, you can visit The Canadian Reserve and Auxiliary Police Page.

Two more interesting sites to visit for more information on Policing is Cops On Line and CopNet.

If you are married to a Law Enforcement Officer, you may be interested in Partners Off Duty which offers spousal support. Their site also has some great links.

The largest Police Service in Canada is the world-renowned Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Perhaps best known for their Musical Ride, the RCMP also maintain The RCMP Officially Recognized Site For Canadian Missing Children Agencies.

Another important registry for missing children is The North American Missing Children Association.

Recent changes to the Canadian Gun Laws have mystified many people. Learn the facts about Canada's New Firearms Act. If you are interested in firearms training and procedures, etc., a site called Frontsight might be worth a visit.
