Friends and Family...

This is 'mi novia' she´s mixed race, originally from Zimbabwe, speaks fluent French and Spanish, did her teacher training at Trinity College, Oxford and is a total sex .

This is my best friend, Karl…..

I used to share a house with him and my friends Chris and Lucy (see below) in Norwich, England whilst I was studying for my Ph.D at the University of East Anglia. This picture was taken the day after his stag night…When not studying Karl and I would go to Rocky Horror shows …., make curry and drink . He is now lives in Vancouver where he spends his days in married bliss pining for 'the good old days when I could run around the streets dressed in women's underwear and not get arrested' and drinking .

Here are my other two (ex) flatmates, Chris and Lucy. Lucy is now living in New Zealand, Chris has been cursed and still has to live in Norwich….

This picture was taken on Chris' 25^th birthday - the celebrations involved driving to a Norfolk pub in the middle of nowhere, getting very drunk and then falling asleep in fields etc. because one was too drunk to put up ones tent….
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Another one of my favourite people is my friend Monica….

Monica is from Brazil , where she's working at the moment and is also a Latin and Ballroom dance maniac and Oceanographer (maybe there's some kind of weird ethereal connection here ?). We did our PhDs at the same university (UEA) and worked together on the RRS Discovery on the ADOX 2 cruise to Antarctica (see Work and Travel). She has even (along with Moira) put up with me using her as a model for my budding drawing and sketching skills.
These are some of my other best friends - my brother José, (me) and my sisters Kirsten (<) and Sally. José did a degree in Physics, Psychology , growing dreadlocks and getting unmentionable parts of his body pierced. His hobbies include travelling around India, Nepal etc etc and...er....stuff. Kirsten is doing law and drinking at Nottingham University (with the empasis on the latter) and Sally (a budding actress/ pain in the butt) is still at school.
