Journey into Imagination
The Journey into
Imagination ride was a charming ride cherished by many Disney fans from its opening on March 5, 1983, until it closed on October 10, 1998. The ride took guests on a guided tour through the imagination process.
Your tour guides, Dreamfinder, a jolly, red-headed, professorial figure, and
Figment, a small creature made out of a lizard's body, a crocodile's nose, a
steer's horns, two big yellow eyes, two small wings, and a pinch of childish
delight, explored the tools of magic, fantasy, and enchantment. Guests learned that
art, literature, theatre, and science all come from your imagination, as you
traveled through many richly-colourful scenes full of special effects. The two characters created for this ride, Dreamfinder and, in particular, Figment, became popular Disney characters at the park. Figment makes a small cameo in the new Journey into Your Imagination ride which replaced this beloved attraction.
