Japan

Japan's architecture, landscaping, and history are beautifully captured in Epcot's Japan pavilion. In the shadow of a large Pagoda, a babbling brook, lined with evergreen trees, courses through the pavilion giving guests a sense of peace and serenity. Housed near the back of the pavilion, in early Japanses architecture, is the Bijutsu-Kan Gallery. This small, constantly changing museum displays rare Japanese costumes, weapons, clocks, kites, etc. Restaurants in this pavilion include Mitsukoshi and Yakitori House; they serve battered chicken, beef and seafood, stirfrys, Japanese sweets, etc. The only shop in this pavilion is the monstrous Mitsukoshi Department Store, a Japanese retail chain, dubbed "Japan's Sears". It sells anything and everything Japanese from kimonos and chopsticks to paper fans and bonsai.
