Housed in a huge Aztec pyramid, the amazing Mexican pavilion takes guests to a quaint plaza where it is forever nighttime. The plaza, which is filled with vendors selling Mexican wares and ringed with shops, looks across a waterway toward another Aztec pyramid and a large volcano. Overhead, a beautiful night sky shimmers and makes guests think twice about the time of day. The main attraction at this pavilion is a six-minute boat ride called El Rio Del Tiempo (The River of Time). The ride shows representations of Mexico's ancient, colonial, and modern cultures using sets, props, beautiful film clips, and Audio-Animatronics that will remind you of those in "It's a Small World" at The Magic Kingdom. One of the most realistic parts of the ride is when vendors relentlessly try to sell you their wares at a market in Mexico City! The shops in the Mexico pavilion are Plaza De Los Amigos, Artesanias Mexicanas, El Ranchito Del Norte, and La Familia Fashions, and they sell sombreros, baskets, pottery, clothing, pinatas, etc. The restaurants at this pavilion are the San Angel Inn, and the Cantina De San Angel; they serve tortillas, tacos, churros, and other authentic Mexican food.
