Spaceship Earth
Housed in the amazing Geosphere called Spaceship Earth is a compelling ride through the history of human communication. The 15-minute journey starts at Cro-Magnon man, and continues up through Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, Gutenberg's Germany, and Renaissance Italy, where guests see an Audio-Animatronic Leonardo Da Vinci painting the roof of the Sistine chapel. The ride continues up to the radio and television age of the 1930's to 1950's, where dozens of TV's and radio's are playing many historical programs ranging from "The Shadow" to "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Colour". All the while, guest's vehicles are spiraling upward through Spaceship Earth, reaching present day at the top, where they are presented with a dazzling view of Earth from outer space. With millions of stars shimmering around, you will gaze in awe. Guest's vehicles then begin their descent through the future of human communication. While passing many amazing futuristic scenes, chock full of special effects, guests see virtual reality classrooms, high-definition TV, and a world connected by the information highway. At the exit of the ride is the Global Neighbourhood, a fun interactive area full of exhibits of the near future, ranging from voice recognition to video telephones.

-Spaceship Earth is visible on a clear day from an airplane flying along either Florida coast!
-Spaceship Earth weighs 16 million pounds, measures 165 feet in diameter, encompasses 2.2 million cubic feet, is supported by pylons sunk 100 feet into the ground, and can sustain winds up to 200 MPH!
-more people pass through Spaceship Earth than any other attraction at Walt Disney World!
