I wanted to see how they celebrated the New Year in Laos...

The old way into Laos from Nong Khai, Thailand

From the streets of Nong Khai, Thailand, steep steps lead down to the river where small boats regularly ferried across the transients. I paid the ferryman, and looked up at the narrower steps leading to Laos.
