The
Network of Travellers was started in the early days of Magun's Compass (1996). It just got bigger than we ever imagined and the
e-mail addresses of fellow travellers were too many for us to keep up with.
Some of the travellers moved on, others
felt that their information was getting to be like the Lonely Planet books we were trying
to supplement -- too out of date, and word of mouth has meant that our e-mail box was
always full with more people wanting to come on board, and we couldn't update the pages as
frequently as we'd like.
The whole project needed to be redesigned
and split up into smaller bytes.
All the country information and links have
been moved to Travel Notes -- The Online Guide
to Travel, and we have created more travel forums; where people can post their messages
themselves, interact with other travellers, and make some new friends along the way.
Posting at Magun's Compass meant that
people needed to wait for me to update the pages, so posting here is more immediate.
The travellers themselves, who supplied
information to fellow travellers, have been informed of the changes and I'm sure they'll
be looking in to answer your questions.
Magun's Compass is not
closing down or going away. In fact we're going to reformat all our pages again, and
finally get down to putting the rest of the travelogues online for your pleasure.
Thanks for visiting us. |
