23:15, 4/5/97 New Delhi
Yo Boooooy,
The watery bowels makes a show! Well, first dose of genuine "Delhi Belly" today - the warning for it was a public vom' you'd have been proud of yesterday. Passed the old water this morning at about 10:00 - didn't stop me going out all day. Another minor showing at lunch time and 2 minutes ago (yes, I have washed my hands!) another gush. The old sphincter was working hard all day when I was out just in case but when I got back all that coming out was enough to keep old Dicky Bransons round the world balloon up! Oh yeah, the old public vom'. Well, there I was yesterday having a lovely day walking around Delhi with this Diane woman (40 year old Romany Gypsy hippy chic).

A long break as you can see - it's now Wednesday 14th and I'm on a train going Shirula(?)/Kalka to New Delhi (again). Cheers mate for the fax - bloody ace! Ooooh, while I remember, poste restante's:
* Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh - to mid June
* Kathmandu - to mid July
* Bangkok - to ermmm, don't know yet.
Thanks for the info on the election, I'd been trying to find out - could be good - as long as they leave my bloody house alone. Personally I'd have made Clare Short minister for the Terminally Ugly!
Ian & I will be in Bangkok for his birthday hopefully & will take in a couple of 'shows' especially 'good' shows! Don't reckon I'll get to see much web in India but should be easier in Bangkok and Singapore. Keep puting stuff on for others to see though (like poste restante, post cards, etc). Up until now we've looked at it whenever we could (except Malawi 'cos they wanted a million frigging quid!) & I know from some letters that other people look at it.
Just been to Manali which is a village in the Himalayas - me, Andy and Nathan (Oz from Middle East travelling who lives in London) & his mate. We had a good time. Place was cold (EXCELLENT) & full of Israelis and 'freaks' (freaks are drugged up weird looking hippy people who have lost the plot). We then (Andy & I) went to Shirula which is an ace colonial styled (was the summer capital when we owned the place) town high (and I mean bloody high) in the Himalayas. Beautiful upper class place. Caught the train (which is called the 'toy train' on account of it being small) which takes 5hrs to wind down to the plains at the bottom - it was like you see in the films (God that sounds naff). Now on a grown up train to Delhi. Going to be meeting Nathan again on Sunday - Andy flys back tomorrow night. Gonna stop now 'cos arm is not comfortable & writing on a train is a pain in the arse.
Me again. Forgot to say tha I'm having curries for breakfast! Anyway, I'll sign off now.
Take care and stay happy 'ya twat'
Your mate Murton x <--- this is for Niki, not you, you poof!
P.S. By the way, India smelly, dirty. hassly & ACE (no doubt I'll get bored of it) Oh, and full of scamming bastards (& cute women).
P.P.S. A couple of lonely planet quotes (that you'll like) that sum up India:
"India's first underground is being built (in Calcutta of all places) at minimum cost in maximum time & almost entirely by hand!!"
"(long two paragraph bit about a beautiful park area with ponds, cricket pitches etc in gardens 3Km x 1Km) and like most open spaces in India is used as a public toilet" [I'll second that]
P.P.P.S 6.4 ON THE RICHTER SCALE!!! A small quake hit Delhi last night (before we arrived). No deaths or damage apparently.
Well Th Thats all folks (again)
See Ya Mate,
Murton.
