Ian,
It took me a few days (Mike's been out and I've been busy), but I've finally picked up the keys for your bike. You didn't mention that most of it is in a cardboard box! I can sell bikes alright, even dodgy ones (ask Martin, heh, heh, heh) but it does detract from the slick sales-pitch somewhat if you have to promise that various bits and pieces would work if only they were attached to the bike...
I did say I would line up the back wheel for you - I guess I can fit the indicators too but this is gonna cost you a beer. Did I say a beer? I mean a crate of beer :-)
Anyway, as I've had a generous offer to house the bike while it's being advertised I thought I might as well let the guy run the bike now and then - keep it charged, etc. You know, the Puppy Principle, except...
I went round last night (Sunday) to move the bike. I found the disc lock before I even tried to start it (impressed!?) but, although the battery was surprisingly well charged, there seemed to be no ignition whatsoever. It just would not fire at all (it was damp though). Is there some magic word you didn't tell me about?... No, I tried those ones...
Well, I put the old bloke onto the job. He loves a challenge and is mechanically very good - I learnt all I know from him, except he uses even bigger hammers than me! So if we can get it going and I fix the indicators and line up the back wheel and if he likes it (Straw Sucks, man) you may even end up with an offer...
Honest Dave
PS. Thanks for the paint. What happened to the valve tool (and my shims)?
