What do you know about Islam and the Muslim world? Most Americans know very little and there is a lot of mis-information going around since September 11. A very interesting thing happened with Trans World Radio in this area. About a month before September 11, TWR completed a 10-hour video series about Islam, produced mainly for Africa. The purpose of this series is to educate the church so they will know how react to the growth of Islam in Africa and be able to reach their Islamic friends with the truth about Jesus Christ. Distribution was just starting when the planes flew into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Presently, they can hardly keep up with the demand in North America! I believe this video, called Battle for the Hearts, is a ‘must see' if you want to understand Muslims in our world today. All of us need to be mobilized to pray and reach out to these people. To get the series or to find out more about it, please contact TWR through the address or phone number at the end of this letter. We're watching it now, and it is tremendous!

I think it is amazing how the Word of God changes people! A listener in Angola wrote: "I would like to share with you how your program contributed positively to my life. Some time ago I had problems with my neighbor because of our children. One evening while listening to TWR's broadcast, the message was one of forgiveness. It became clear to me that we have to forgive one another just as God forgives us. That very evening I went over to my neighbor's home and told her about the program and that I felt that we should forgive each other. She was amazed by the step I was taking. We were able to forgive each other and we have since become good friends. She has also started listening to TWR's programs."

As I am writing this letter we are coming into the Christmas season and waiting for the arrival of our daughter, Rhonda, whom we haven't seen in a year now. She is in her senior year at Bethel College and seriously thinking of going on to graduate school. We are looking forward to getting caught up on all that has been going on in her life.

We also have Peter here with us for a month, during his break from Rift Valley Academy. A few weeks before leaving school, his friend gave him a nice short hair cut. Made him look like he just came home from the military! He is again enjoying being involved with the computer department at the TWR Office here in Manzini during his break from school.

Debbie has been busy in the office for four days a week as administrative assistant. She takes Fridays off so she can do house work and prepare for having guests, which we hope to have about once a week.

At work I've had some interesting things going on. We are presently getting ready to put in another antenna for our three shortwave transmitters. This will be the first of three antennas which were recently purchased in South Africa. At present, some of our antennas are not heavy-duty enough to support the full 100,000 watts of power our transmitters are capable of putting out. However, these very high quality antennas have become surplus by another company, and we are getting them for a fraction of what they would normally cost if purchased new. Please pray that the Lord will give us wisdom and safety. A lot of work goes into surveying and planning. I've been helping Steve Stavropoulos, our chief engineer, with this preliminary work.

I have also been involved in making some changes and working out problems with our communication dishes. The big one you see in the picture was taken down and moved to our office building from the transmitter site. It was a fun project. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that the new year will be filled with God's blessings.
