Looking for a position as a Novell Network Administrator or PC Technical Support Specialist.


Summary of Qualifications

General: Technically skilled with good manual dexterity and knowledge about IBM type computer hardware and software. Also in the past used to manage up to 20 people in the packing and shipping warehouse in Pennsylvania and in the cultural community center in Poland. Was one of the Beta-Testers of Windows 95 and Microsoft Network. Was in charge (as a volunteering Assistant Forum Manager) of public European Forum on the Internet (Microsoft Network). Contributing articles to the new MSN Expedia forum (Europe). In October 20-th, 1997 became Certified Novell Administrator (CNA). I also had been trained as a print queue operator on AS/400 system to cover for 2-nd system operator when he is taking days off work.
          Though I am experienced in operating and maintaining PCs and in managing public forums on the Internet, I'm very open to learn new skills for advancement in my career within a company structure.


Hardware: Extensive experience in operating and maintaining IBM type Personal Computers functioning as stand alone machines as well as on LAN. Experience with Novell Netware LAN servers, also with printers, modems and scanners. Some experience with AS/400 terminals.


Software: Netware 4.x, MS-DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows 95, MS Office Professional, MS Works, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Network (MSN), Lotus 123, CompuServe, AOL, Prodigy . Some experience with Windows NT 3.51 network. Currently exploring WWW and HTML language.

12/96-Present PC Tech. Support Specialist.

Technical Support for over 120 workstations (IBM type PCs) and 2 servers on Novell LAN and for 1 server/4 workstations on NT network. Writing operating and troubleshooting instructions for users of PC applications on NT and Novell networks. Performing temporary Network Administrators duties between July 1997 and December 1997 (after former boss resigned and left the company).
07/96 - 09/96 Computer Specialist (temporary assignment).
Polonia Bookstore, Inc., Chicago, IL
Setting up and trouble-shooting custom software written for bookstores. Teaching other employees how to use this program on Novell 3.1 LAN. Taking care of all hardware installed on LAN. Helping in building inventory databases when free from troubleshooting and teaching.
11/92 - 05/96 Security Officer.
Skip's Cutting, Inc., New Holland, PA
Was in charge of night shift operation of packing and shipping warehouse until 09/95. Then, as a security officer, while performing standard sec. duties helped setting up for the department and took care of a small computerized system tracking all of the department's activities. The system saved time (and paper) in preparing all security reports.

Taking care of peoples gardens, some landscaping. In 1991-92 was doing some computer consulting, tutoring, upgrades, set ups and maintenance on the side of the main business.
