One Campers Pictorial Journal....

This journal was made by a young camper during
his 11 day session at Camp Minwassin during August of 1998.........

After a one and one half hour bus ride from Ottawa ......
We finally arrive at Camp Minwassin, and are welcomed
by a sheet sign put up by the counselors.

After the busses unload, we all go to the Senior Circle where we
are assigned to Cabins (Scouts, Bushmen etc.) and after getting
settled in, we are given a tour of the Camp and it's facilities.

These 5 pictures are of kids in some of the cabins,
but I have forgotten the cabin names ....sorry.

As you can see, my camera was very busy....We saw
the Beach Area, The Camp Office, Kitchen, Dining Hall,
Rec Hall, and too many other things to even remember,
except the Tuck Shop (Store)... and when it will open !

We also met Rick.... He's the Camp Manager and Mark and
Karen the Program Directors, the girls who run the waterfront
and others who run the Arts and Crafts ,I can't remember
all their names , but I do remember Wayne the Maintenance
Man and his Assistant Carl.... Carl has been here forever (34 years)!

During the camp we really learned a lot and did a lot of
neat things, like big barbeques, overnight camps and I think the
highlight of my Session was the MUD FIGHT we had and even got
Rick the Camp Manager into it.

These pictures were of the barbeque and water sports we
participated in and the others were just pictures I had taken
during the Camp and after this I ran out of film...........

So I will have to finish this Journal next summer when
I come back to CAMP MINWASSIN.

Bye for now ...... Charly
