This page is a joint project between my Step Dad (Tacklebox) and I. We started it a couple weeks before I left for Morocco. The idea was to give family and friends a way to follow my adventures, see my pictures and find out what the heck I'm doing halfway around the world.

I was sending the undeveloped film to the U.S., my Dad was scanning them and putting them on the web site along with the text from emails and letters that I sent. Now, I am doing the whole thing myself (with indispensible advice from Tacklebox) He now has his own company for making websites and can be reached by either clicking on the "TB" symbol at the bottom of the page or at his URL

The first set of pictures are a little personal history, just so people can get an idea where I came from. There are some family, some friends and a lot of me.

If you'd like to get right at it, go ahead and ENTER HERE; however, I may say something very profound further down this page that you probably shouldn't miss.

My first thoughts of joining the Peace Corps came up 2 years before I left. I was in college at San Diego State University, studying Psychology and Linguistics. I knew I wanted to travel and I wanted to do it for an extended period of time. A job overseas seemed like the perfect tool to achieve that. For the last 4 years before I left, I had been working for the San Diego County Office of Education in the Juvenile Court and Community Schools division. I worked with high-risk youth living in a halfway house. I found the experience to be quite satisfying; A combination of feeling that what I did made a difference and the intrinsic rewards of community service.

The Peace Corps' mission statement fit perfectly with my ideals and my need for adventure. Thus began the long application process and in the meantime, finishing school.

I left the states 27th of June, 1999, for Rabat, the capitol of Morocco, where my training began. My assignment in Morocco is as an ESP instructor, which means I'll be teaching English for Special Purposes. Each student has a specific reason they need to learn English. In my case I'm working at a technical school, and it is my responsibility to set up a program to address their needs. I will also be working with the Ministry of Youth, organizing art, music, athletic and environmental programs for the youth. During the summers (when the schools are out) I will be helping other volunteers around the country with their projects, whatever they may be.

Hope you enjoy the site and return often. And, may your life be an adventure every day.
