We all had a fabulous time @ the winter retreat which was held @ a resort north of Barrie. With lots of fellowship, singing, cooking, eating, playing cards, playing jokes, laughing, and having fun, we all found our own way to realize what a great God we worship. And remember the little "surprise" party we had for Iris? Except the kitchen didn't have an oven, so the cake was attempted by the stove. And one more thing (since I was @ the back and didn't see), did Adrian walk in first instead of Iris??? So much for surprise...
The bad thing was.....there was cable TV. (OK OK, I ADMIT... S Club 7 is a cheesy show. but...but it's cool! heheh) Good thing Alvin banned it for an afternoon... or else we wouldn't have had our cool little concert in the hotel lobby. (Those reception people were taking a lot of pics of us.... Maybe they've never had so many Chinese people before....heheh especially TEENAGERS!! AHHH!! OR...maybe they were WOO-ed by us!)
Our Bible study was on encouragement, which is also our church theme for this year. Janette told me that that was a total coincidence. Remember to give everyone encouraging WARM SMILES! (Joda, I said warm, NOT scary!)
Praise God we met new friends @ the retreat. And thank the Lord that we were able to share the good news with them. Pray for them as they go home... Pray that we have opened up their conception of God. Pray that when they go home, they will be curious to find out who the TRUE God is.
Well.. one year down... are we ready to go again next year???????? (Can I retire as the wake-up call person? It was a lot of fun... but still.. there was the harrassment from several cranky-definitely-NOT-morning people...)
