PETCHABUN Huai Pa-Dang Irrigation Water Reservoir This place is very attractive sightseeing especially, while the sun rises and sets. Petchabun people called this reservoir that "Petchabun Lake". This Water Reservoir Project was built for Lam Huai Pa-Dang in Tambol Pa-Law to solve the shortage of water to grow rice in the beginning and ending of rice growing season and to reserve water for industry and water supply. Phra Buddha Maha Dhamma Raja This Buddha image is Therd shape of Lopburi period, it is made of bronze, its lap is 13 inches wide and its height is 18 inches without base. It was installed at Wat Traiphum, an ancient temple in Petchabun Province. According to the legend, while Ayutthaya had been capital last 400 years, Petchabun people were catching fish in Kwae Watercourse, Pasak river at Wang Makham Fab(Zalacca tree) in the north of Petchabun City, they found Phra Buddha Maha Dhamma Raja in that watercourse. They also installed it to Wat Traiphum where was the central place in that period. Annual Songkran festival, Petchabun celebrates Songkran with water throwing as well as Phra Buddha Maha Dhamma Raja parade around the city. Wat Mahathat Situated in Muang Petchabun municipality. This monastery is an ancient temple of Petchaburi that H.R.H. Prince Damrong has presumed that this monastery should have been constructed during Sukhothai period. Wat Mahathat has the important objects of worship such as, Phum Khao Binth design pagoda has been presumed that it should have been constructed about B.E. 1926 (1383). This pagoda is a place that comprises Buddha's relics, Orrahan's (saint) ashes, and small images of Buddha in several style. Two buddha images of the beginning U-Thong period Maravichai whose laps are 36 inches wide.
