Gigantic Orchids

            When compared with other plants in terms of size and structure, the orchid family tend to have the diversification in their characteristics. The world rargest orchid has the stem size of five metres and may weigh more than one ton. In the same time there are also other species with their fullest size at 2-3 millimetres and weigh not more than one gram. Some have large flowers of more than one foot or some have very small flowers that is impollible for normal eyesight. Moreover,some species are turned into vines of almost many meters.

            One of the longest stemed in the orchid family found growing as epiphytic climbers on tree trunks in lowland evergreen forests of the southern region. Flowering is in summer.

            One fo the longest stemmed saprophytic orchids. which is leafless,found scrambling on trees in the lowland evergreen forests of the southern region. Flowering is all year round.
