Slipper Orchids
One of the most interesting features of the slipper orchids which emphasizes their primitive look reflects in remaining of their two anthers. Also, another amazing development of these orchids is the structure of their sack-like lip equivalent to the shape of the slipper which in turn is useful for the purposeof their fertilization. There are altogether four genera of this slipper orchid. Howerver, in Thailand, only one genus with fourteen species have been discovered. Almost all species are terestrial and can be easily found in the forests and in limestone cliffs.Only some species are found in Thailand.
