Koh
Samui... a beautiful and fantastic place to choose for vacation.
Julie, Billie & I went there for 3 days stay during Labour Day
holiday. Ticket
for van cost RM60 from Penang to Ko Samui and it leaves at 8.30AM
(Malaysian Time). When you reach Had Yai, you need to change to
another van to Surat Thani. Its a long journey. We have to take a
night boat at 11PM and reach Koh Samui at 5.30AM (Thailand Time) the
next day. The night boat is
something new for us. We didn't expect 2 persons to share a mattress! We
decided to stay at Lamai beach. Finding cheap accommodation in Lamai
is easy. We stay at Magic Resort, a wooden chalet with fan and
attach bathroom for 2 person will cost you 600 Baht. However their
bathing water has a salty taste, and you'll get sticky kind of
feeling after shower. There are even worms coming out of the shower
host!! There's also good side for this place. At night you can dine at the
Magic Resort beach restaurant. Colorful lights are setup to create a
romantic atmosphere.
It's really relaxing to have a drink while listening to the waves
rushes to shore. It's
really hot during the month of May and we did something stupid by
renting a motorbike to go around the island. It's about 36 degree Celsius
and the sun is really burning us! Day 1 we went to Hin Ta - Hin Yai
(Picture top left),
Namuang Waterfall and Chaweng town. Motorbike rental is 150 Baht
each, 50 Baht petrol is enough for you to travel around for the
whole day. Day
2 we went to Angthong Marine National Park. Ticket for this day trip
can be bought at the resort you are staying. It cost 650 Baht per
person,
breakfast and lunch included. Foreign traveler need to pay 200 Baht
for park entrance. You should not miss this trip! We
choose to move to Chaweng Beach on day 3. Managed to find an
affordable room at Ban Chaweng Resort. Air condition room for 3
person is 1000 Baht and it's worth it!! Later we head to Big Buddha
Temple (Picture right) to pray for our safety journey home tomorrow. In the evening
we hang
out at Chaweng Central beach. This is the most happening beach in
Koh Samui. It's very crowed compare to Lamai beach. You can see
people selling handicrafts, food and even services to do massage and
henna tattoo. Lot's of armo guleng too ;) Click on
